2). How does your media production represent particular social groups?
My media production represents young white teenagers as lively, trendy and sociable. They are presented as people that like to go out and have a good time with friends, attending musical festivals etc. My production does not exclude any other races, but sterotypically, it is often found that it is white teenagers that listen to this music and other races are sterotypically found to listen to rap/hiphop. I used mis en scene of a pair of headphones on my front cover to emphasise the obsession of music. Also, the clothing helps to display the partying culture of the young people. The picture on my contents page of the girls wearing wellies & sunglasses at a festival & the male on the front cover is wearing bold, outgoing clothes also. These outfits potray there attitude and personaility which tells us they are fun and not afraid to stand out from other people. Furthermore, the choice of text compromises with the buoyant vibe I tried to give off. The text is similar to some of the existing house music magazines around, for example MixMag which is based around the same social group as my production. This circle like font is also used on CD's such as subsoul, which can be found on my double page spread, becuase this font will draw in attention of the social group which have seen it else where. I also used a dark background with white and bright purple font to create contrast. The bright text across a dark background creates a euphoric atmosphere, somewhat similar to a night out for the music lovers. My production represents the social group as working class, considering they have the money to afford to go to festivals and buy new clothes.
